As I sit here with my third cup of coffee on this lazy Thanksgiving morning, I find it a perfect time to reflect on this season. This years summer season started out unusually slow. We went into the summer with fewer than usual catering commitments, and I couldn't help but wonder what was happening.
The economy seemed to be plugging along just fine. People were still falling in love. Ice cream was still in vogue, with no imminent new-fangled "discovery" of it causing some sort of deathly disease. So, what the heck was going on?
We're fortunate to belong to several wedding vendor groups, so what better way to get to the bottom of the problem? I started asking around. Everyone, apparently, was in the same boat. The year/season was a "late bloomer".
